Royston Regional

Well back to the regionals and we headed off to Royston who helped out th MK club after having track prob due to flooding,I decided against racing,in fact put my bike together and didnt even turn a pedal.....ho hum!!!!

Have to say though it was a bit of a poor turnout considering the work these guys do,but with the 4x National champs kicking off on the same day just down the road at Chicksands it was always up against it,saying that,cant think of anyone that didnt enjoy it,Leon and kelsey especially,Kelsey coming away with a 2nd wearing her new kit and also riding her new bike.....made me smile cause she really looked good out there,Leon was going good too,only made the 'B' final but after a cracking gate,seemed to go from 2nd to 4th and then to 5th come the finish,he was happy though and maybe he'll learn to close the door on the inside next time....we'll see!!!

next stop Cheddar National......Kelsey hasnt stopped talking about it...ha!!!!

Down time

Well its been nearly a month since I last raced,had a bad downer after Burnham national which was pretty much a disaster,lets just say I enjoyed watching more than I did racing,which is a strange thing to say.Leon was riding Cruiser for the 1st time and although he didnt set the world alight he done pretty damn good considering the gearing was all wrong and it was a pretty hefty bike for him to try to throw about round Burnham......got my props anyway!!!!
So.....what next....who knows....was on a real downer at Burnham......lost the enjoyment of racing,think I'll just race when I feel like it,30/39 cruiser sounds appealing....might just have to give that a go.......kids are happy though so to me thats all that matters,Kelsey got her new ride all sorted along with the new gear and Leon is looking keen as mustard too.....so not all bad!!!!

Ipswich Winter Regional

We hit up Ipswich yesterday for the last but one round of the EA winter series,F1 was a pretty stacked group with some fast riders out there,Lee Alexander was back after some back trouble along with 'Hilly',Lilly,Tricker,Robbie Goodman,Shaun 'the mangler' Andrews,Rich Townsend,Johnny Roberts too along with me Jools Allen,Gav Stokes,Darren Foreman and co,18 riders meant we had semi,2 riders to go from the motos,couldnt quite get into it as per usual,need to snap out of this shizzle big time and just show some god damn commitment,got a 5th in the first moto,followed by a 4th and 2x 2nds but just wasnt feeling it,made the semi and to be honest looking at it I could have done with a crash to help me through,harsh maybe....but true,starght out the gate Lee Alex knocks bars with me both of us get caught behind the Ipswich lads of Andrews,Lillingstone and Goodman,my prayers were answered as we hit the first berm as Lillingstone and Goodman both went down,I cruised through to take the second place behind Shaun until the very next jump.....got squirly coming out of the bombhole and just lost it....under no pressure at all...just cocked it right up,picked the bike up ready to go but as I untwisted and straightened my bars lee Alex went past and grabbed the 4th place needed....'B' Final beckoned....managed a 4th in the 'B'...had a bit of a battle with Gav Stokes as he took me down the 2nd straight but I pulled him on the last....good race......just poor commitment from me.....again.
Kids done OK,Leon looked pretty good for someone that never rides his bike,think he must have finished in 4th or 5th overall...but had some good battles with Taylor Andrews,
Kelsey won her 'B' final after out pumping on the 2nd last straight and moving on the inside....great move for her.
Next stop Peterborough next weekend.....maybe I might just get my jump on but somehow.....mmmm

Head down

Wednesday and finally got my head down this week,bit of running,some weights and also a bit of work on the rollers too,feel better for it too,just need some quality track time and just ride,not quite to chucking big weights about yet but we'll see.
Off to Ipswich on Sunday which is always a bit special,it used to be my home track back in the day,its changed a lot since but still a pretty decent track,its grown on me a lot too,not sure who will be there to race against but can bet 'Hilly' and the Ipswich guys(tricker & Shaun Andrews will be there at least.

Time out today,had a bit of a session at Braintree Track yesterday,bit windy but went with kelsey so she could train with Mark Seaman,she loves it at the mo,considering how windy it was she never complained and just gets on with it.
There is a club meeting today at the track but with it being Mothers Day we decided to give it a miss especially being away all last weekend and a busy few weekends coming up soon.
Back on the training programme tomorrow.....need to sort this out...fed up chatting time to start doing!!!!!

Wed 27th after the 'No Balls' weekend!!!

After meeting up with the 'Elvins' at 4.30 then onto the 'Golders' to collect them we headed off to Dover,managed to catch our ferry about 8.30 and had a few of the other UK riders on board too,Jools Allen & Jon Stockwell were on the way down as we left,arrived in Calais and headed off to the centre where the track was situated,practice was in the afternoon and we all managed to get about 3/4 gates each,I couldnt quite get the track sussed and was playing on my mind badly as we left for the hotel later.

Race day for 'Moose' on his cruiser and Lee 'Gangster' Golder was on the Saturday,Moose was gating well in practice but just couldn't nail it come race day,although he was unfortunate to miss out of a place in the next round whilst Lee managed to make the eighths and and finished in 5th just missing out.Jon Stockwell finished in 5th in his 40+ Cruiser semi whilst the UK's Tony Fleming won the same class overall.

Sunday race day came and I thought i'd got over my mind probs but not a hope,got some great gates postions but flunked big time,great starts too but moto one was a nightmare,got to the first set on the corner and just bottled it,everyone just left me,similar story in the 2nd moto but luckily 2 guys crashed and I got a 5th,start to relax for the final moto and managed to smooth out the jumps and even push the guy in front into a mistake and pull him on the last corner but just a story of too little too late.

All in all the weekend was superb except for the racing,gonna go now for today,need to look on ebay.....see if I can get some balls!!!!

Well,where do i start...
welcome to my blog,not sure how long this will last lol but hey,thought I'd give it a go,
Just preparing for the European Round in Douai in France at the weekend,done a bit of training but dont expect anything more that to get moto'd,hooking up and traveling with Alan 'Chef' Elvin,the 'Moose'(Tom Elvin) and also the Golders,Dad Dennis and Lee 'Gangsta' Golder.
Been on a high all week so just cant wait to ride against some of the big guns in Europe....along with some of the regular UK riders.
